The platform Sama Africa was designed by a group of African engineers.
Our ambition is to make people discover or rediscover Africa, this multifaceted land. Also, we thought the concept « Sama Africa » as a link between licensed professional tour operators and travellers from all over the world.
Tour operators, with a professional license, whether corporate or physical persons, may offer their activities. So, we hope to promote the local economy by allowing them to reach international customers and develop their business.
On other hand, future travellers will be able to book safely and user-friendly a large choice of customizable activities in different African countries.
The founder
Rebecca works as a project manager consultant in the banking sector. The idea of creating the Sama Africa platform came to her in 2019, following two trips to Morocco then Tanzania. Consequently, she became aware on the one hand of the uniqueness and richness of the African experience but on the other hand of the difficulties of organizing a trip to Africa. By creating Sama Africa, she hopes to make the African continent a little more accessible to as many people as possible.
What’s Sama Africa?
Sama Africa is a market place which brings together tour operators offering tourist activities in Africa and travellers from all over the world.
On the one hand, the tour operators registered on the platform will be able to offer activities allowing their future customers to have great experiences.
On the other hand, travellers will be able to search for activities for their future trips to Africa. Then, if they are registered on the platform, book the activities that correspond to their preferences.
By making a reservation through the Platform, the traveller enters into a direct contractual relationship with the tour operator with whom he makes the reservation.
Who can offer activities?
The platform is open to professional tour operators with a license, whether they are corporate or physical persons.
Registration and publishing the activity proposals are free.
To register, tour operators must provide their license numbers and several documents. All these information will be checked because the expertise of tour operators as much the safety of future travellers are essential to us.
Which kind of activities are allowed?
All activities offered must comply with our Terms & Conditions.
The activities will take place exclusively on the African continent, for a short or long duration, for different categories (Safaris, Hiking, Tours, Experiences) and with the possibility of personalizing them with options.
In addition, we ask tour operators to comply with the following additional requirements:
- The activities must be described with exhaustiveness and precision: date and time, meeting place, detailed description, furniture provided, etc.
- As soon as an activity is booked, the tour operator takes a commitment to honour the service except in case of emergency.
- To ensure that the activities have good review (rates and comments). As the quality of the services offered on the platform is one of our priority, the activities with an average rating less than or equal to 5 may be deactivated or deleted.
Sama Africa can deactivate or delete my account?
All the platform users (travellers or tour operators) must comply with our Terms & Conditions. Otherwise their accounts may be deactivated or deleted.
Your account can also be deactivated or deleted if your publications (activities, comments, etc.) are contrary to applicable law or potentially harmful or unacceptable for Sama Africa, its members, third parties or property.
Sama Africa will regularly review user accounts and after that some of them may be deactivated or deleted. The objective of these reviews is to ensure the respect the values of our community (security, reliability, respect), the General Conditions, the applicable laws and regulations and to establish a climate of mutual trust.
In addition, a tour operator who has several activities whose overall ratings are less than or equal to 5 may also be deactivated until he takes the measures to improve his service.
If your account is deactivated, you still must honour your future reservations without accepting new reservations (for tour operators) or submitting new reservations (for travellers).
How much to pay to access the Sama Africa platform?
For travellers, the service of reservation is completely free. You will pay exactly the total price of the activity and options (if chosen) as indicated at the time of booking.
The registration and publishing the activities are completely free for tour operators. However, you will pay a commission on each booking. This commission corresponds to a percentage of the price of the activities and options.
How the traveller’s payment is collected?
The total price of the reservation is collected from travellers using a payment service provider (PSP) for and on behalf of the tour operator that offers the activity booked.
Upon finalizing the reservation, you will be redirected to the payment authentication site. Payment is made securely with immediate debit of your payment method.
Note: Reservations are made with the price displayed and according to the currency you have selected (EUR or USD). Also, if the currency of your bank account is different from the currency of the reservation payment, the issuer of your credit card or bank card may apply an exchange rate or currency conversion fees to your payment.
How payment is transferred to the tour operators?
Tour operators will be paid by bank transfer each wesnesday for the reservations completed the past week. The amount transferred corresponds to the sum of the prices of reservations made the previous month deducted from Sama Africa’s commission.
Otherwise, an advance payment may be transferred to the Guides who request it. This advance payment cannot exceed 30% of the reservation amount and is calculated based on the reservation cancellation conditions defined by the Guide:
